Alyssa Leib, MS, RD
I’m an anti-diet sports dietitian and lover of all things mountain sports.
I’ve been there, and I get it.
As a trail runner, I know what it’s like to bonk.
As a rock climber, I understand the frustration of pulley injuries.
I’ve worked through the challenges of packing food for a thru hike, navigated hydration and fueling issues while riding chair lifts and skinning up mountains, and felt the pressure to be lighter to succeed.
Who better to go to for your nutrition advice?
Nutrition Philosophy
As a dietitian, I believe that physical health matters. As an athlete, I understand the importance of performance. As a human being, I know that setting PRs and sending higher grades isn’t sustainable if it comes at the expense of your mental health.
That’s why I support all of my athletes in building and nurturing a positive relationship with food and with their bodies.
I believe in a focus on what to add - rather than on what to take away - to prevent injuries, perform better, and feel your best.

I'm a Registered Dietitian and also work as a mountain guide. I have more than a decade of experience guiding climbers and skiers in technical terrain. After years of fueling (and misfueling!) and working with people from many different walks of life, I decided to pursue a career in nutrition. I like to help athletes and recreationalists feel better in the mountains and believe that performance should not come at the cost of healthspan.
My background bridges the gap between mountain athletics and nutrition science. I understand firsthand the importance of pack weight when you are bivvying on a climb or skiing the steeps. I also know what it is like to visit your health care provider and get recommendations that do not fit the lifestyle of someone that spends all of their free time in the mountains.
I work with outdoor athletes, climbers, skiers, mountaineers, and active individuals to develop practical nutrition strategies that support performance, recovery, body composition goals, and long-term health
